Hello! My name is Amber and I’m a registered social worker. I also hold a master’s degree in counselling. I offer individual and couples counselling for ages 18+.
My primary goal is to create an emotionally safe and judgement-free environment where you can take a deep breath, relax and just be yourself. I practice from a client-centered perspective, with an emphasis on working in partnership with clients. I also practice from a trauma-informed lens, assuming that we have all experienced trauma at some point in our lives.
I have experience helping clients through anxiety, anger, stress, grief and loss, trauma, and unhealthy relationships with self and others. Some of the counselling theories I’m drawn to are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing and Attachment Theory. I’m also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, which is an evidence-based eye movement therapy for people with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and so on.
I believe that success in counselling is connected to having a compassionate, accepting, and empathetic counsellor that you feel safe and comfortable with. I believe this is one of my personal strengths as a counsellor, and something I continually strive to provide for my clients.

Are you looking for a safe space to share your story, find meaning in it, rediscover your value and potential, and gain direction?
I am passionate about supporting individuals (18+), couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. My work focuses on creating a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported as they explore their stories and make sense of their experiences.
I have a particular interest in working with concerns related to life and career transitions, grief and loss, relationships, faith and spirituality, and anxiety and depression.
My approach is grounded in the belief that when we begin to understand our story and feel more anchored in who we are, we can move forward with greater clarity, purpose, and connection.
My own experiences of feeling lost, unheard, and uncertain of my direction have shaped both my personal growth and my professional passion. These experiences allow me to connect with clients in an authentic and empathetic way, meeting them where they are with care and understanding.
I view the therapeutic process as a collaborative journey. Together, we can explore your story, gently challenge unhelpful patterns, and begin to reshape the narratives that no longer serve you—so you can move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Sometimes the patterns that once helped us cope—like suppressing feelings, avoiding conflict, or putting others’ needs first—can begin to leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from ourselves. I provide a supportive space to gently explore these patterns, understand where they come from, and begin creating healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
I support individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, self-worth struggles, people-pleasing, anger management, as well as challenges with boundaries and relationships. I also work with couples who want to strengthen their relationship by improving communication and breaking negative cycles so they can feel more understood, supported, and connected.
I offer individual counselling, EMDR therapy, and couples counselling, tailoring each session to your needs, goals, and pace. My approach is integrative, collaborative, and relational, with the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel respected, supported, and truly heard. If you’re ready to take the next step, I would be honoured to support you on your path toward healing and meaningful change.

Starting therapy or even considering it can feel vulnerable, overwhelming, or uncertain. Reaching out for support often comes with mixed emotions, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to begin this process.

Some things are hard to talk about, and sometimes there are no words. I am an art psychotherapist working with children, adolescents, and adults to explore emotions, thoughts, and experiences through creative expression.
I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can use art to process trauma, navigate challenges, and build self-understanding at your own pace.
Creating art allows both children and adults to safely express things that are confusing, overwhelming, or sometimes hidden. It can help to regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and make better sense of your inner world.
I tailor each session to the client’s needs, goals, and comfort level. During some sessions, the art may be your only voice, while in others we will colour or paint while you talk. I will always meet you where you are.
But, do I need to be an artist? No, you only need to be curious and open to the process. Stick people have feelings too!

Starting therapy can feel scary and vulnerable and having a space where you feel at ease matters. I aim to create a comfortable, safe space, where you feel comfortable to show up exactly as you are.
I work with individuals (age 15+), couples, and families navigating a wide range of concerns including stress, relationship challenges, identity, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting those experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, and the impact of narcissistic abuse.
You might feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, stuck in repeating patterns, or unsure why certain situations affect you so deeply. In our work together, I focus on understanding the full picture of your life as I believe everything is connected. Meaningful change often comes from exploring those connections.
I draw from cognitive-behavioural therapy, attachment-based approaches, nervous system regulation strategies, and I have specialized training in EMDR to help process experiences that continue to affect life. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded.
Although we cannot control everything that happens to us, we do have influence over where we go next. You do not have to figure that out alone.

I believe that meaningful connections are at the heart of counselling. As a mother of two and a wife, I bring both professional experience and lived understanding of the joys and challenges of family, relationships, and life transitions. I take a gentle, individualized approach, supporting adults, teens, and children who are experiencing neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, difficulties regulating emotions, or are seeking direction in life. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. With 20 years of experience as an educator, I have worked with a wide range of students and families, giving me a strong understanding of community supports, developmental needs, and the many factors that influence personal growth. I focus on the whole person—the mind, body, and emotions, helping clients explore their past, navigate the present, and plan for the future in a way that honors their strengths and individuality. I walk alongside my clients with compassion and support, helping them build resilience, confidence, and meaningful change in their lives.
